PRIOR LAKE – September 24, 2013 – Mystic Lake Casino Hotel is celebrating Oktoberfest with three all-new events. Festivities include a beer hall party the weekend of October 4 and 5, a casino-wide party the weekend of October 11 and 12, and a seasonal beer pairing dinner with Summit Brewing Company on Tuesday, October 29.

Kicking off Mystic Lake’s Oktoberfest events is their first-ever “Oktobeerfest” celebration with a German Beer Hall Party featuring live music by Those Darn Accordions in the Grand Ballroom from 5 to 11 p.m. on October 4 and 5. Live entertainment, giveaways, games including hammerschlagen and German food and drink specials will also be featured throughout the casino. The celebration continues with a casino-wide party from 7 to 11 p.m. October 11 and 12 including live music by Boogie Wonderland, dancers, photos with German beer maids, giveaways and prize drawings.

Next, Mystic Steakhouse is teaming up with Summit Brewing Company for a five-course seasonal beer pairing dinner on October 29. The gourmet meal marks the beginning of a series of wine and beer pairing dinners prepared by Executive Chef Richard Fisher, Executive Pastry Chef Marshall Rosenthal, and Executive Sous Chef Corey Martin.

“We are very excited to work hand-in-hand with Summit’s brew master on the pairings. It’s October, so this is the perfect time for a beer-focused dinner,” says Fisher. “Summit is a true leader in the craft beer world and we are very fortunate to have them right here in our backyard.” When asked about his favorite dishes on the evening’s menu, Fisher couldn’t pick just one. “The Wild Boar Chop with Maple Cider and Truffle Beer Foam will be a great pairing with Summit’s legendary Oktoberfest brew. The Apple Cider Ginger Gelée with Bourbon Butternut Mousse will showcase a modern approach to some traditional ingredients. And our pastry chef’s Apple Galette with Cranberry Sorbet is out of this world.” Reservations for the dinner are required, and space is limited to the first 70 guests.
