Big Lake woman wins nearly $3,000 playing "21 Cards" televised game show at Mystic Lake

PRIOR LAKE, Minn. – Cheryl Dzuik does not consider herself a risk taker. But the Big Lake resident rolled the figurative dice twice before leaving the game show "21 Cards" at Mystic Lake $2,700 richer.

The show was taped in the Mystic Showroom in August and will air on The CW Twin Cities at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 19. Show contestants chose from 21 numbered cards to reveal a joker, which ended the game, or a cash value, which allowed contestants to continue playing and increase their winnings, or cash out at their current total. Dzuik's appearance on stage overlapped into a second show, so she will appear on the following week's episode as well.

"It was pretty nerve-wracking at first," Dzuik said. "My legs were like rubber."

Dzuik said she didn’t have any strategy except to pick card No. 21 first. That card happened to hold the highest single prize of $2,500.
"My husband thought I would quit after $2,500," Dzuik said.
But she kept on playing, choosing two separate cards worth $100 each before deciding to cash out.

Dzuik said she enjoyed playing "21 Cards" and will use the winnings on a vacation for herself and her husband.

"21 Cards" airs Saturdays at 6 p.m. and Sundays at 12:30 a.m. on The CW Twin Cities.
