PRIOR LAKE – July 23, 2013 – Blues legend B.B. King will take the Mystic Showroom stage at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel Friday, October 4, at 8 p.m.

Known as “King of the Blues,” B.B. King was born in 1925 on a cotton plantation in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He began playing on street corners in his hometown and eventually hitchhiked to Memphis, Tennessee, where he launched his professional musical career. King began touring nationally in 1952 in the wake of his first No. 1 hit, “Three O’Clock Blues,” and hasn’t ever stopped. In more than five decades since that first hit single, he has charted three platinum and two gold albums, and has released a string of modern blues classics including “The Thrill is Gone,” “Payin’ the Cost to be the Boss,” “Everyday I Have the Blues,” and “Why I Sing the Blues.”

King has influenced generations of rock and blues musicians and collaborated with luminaries including U2, Eric Clapton and Bobby Bland. Throughout his distinguished career he has been honored with numerous awards including 15 Grammys®, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Kennedy Center Honors, the National Heritage Fellowship and the Presidential Medal of the Arts.
