Prior Lake, Minn. – Mystic Lake Casino Hotel has announced that it will begin offering beer, wine and liquor sales today. The service will first be offered in Mystic Steakhouse, Meadows Bar & Grille, and meeting and convention areas of the enterprise; it will be expanded to locations near the gaming floor over the next month.

“Adding alcohol service to the Mystic Lake experience has been the most frequent request made by our guests for many years,” said Edward Stevenson, president and chief executive officer of the SMSC Gaming Enterprise, which runs Mystic Lake. “We’ve studied the idea very carefully as we’ve evolved toward a casino resort atmosphere over the past several years.”

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community has received all necessary approvals from the United States Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety to begin alcohol sales at its Mystic Lake Casino and Hotel. The SMSC and the SMSC Gaming Enterprise have also consulted with local governments and law enforcement agencies to help prepare for the change.

Mystic Lake has provided comprehensive training on alcohol service and alcohol awareness to nearly 2,400 team members. It has also begun the process of filling about 70 new jobs created by alcohol sales.

“We’re glad to offer this amenity to enhance the experience for our guests who choose to drink and who do so responsibly,” added Stevenson.
